Web Design!
10-Dec-06
There are different types and styles of Website to choose from to both match the needs of your site and your budget.....
You can MIX and MATCH All functionality and layout options eg. you can have either a Template based or custom Designed Static Site or a Template based or custom Designed Dynamic Site (See chart below: and our WEB DESIGN COMPARISONS TABLE)
Also you can have a static site with dynamic elements added as extras! Eg a 10 page Template based Static site with a dynamic guestbook added!
For Site functionality choose between Static and dynamic sites: For Layout and Budget considerations choose between Template based or Custom Designed sites:
Static Sites
A static site is made up of one or a series of pages which remain the same every time a user views it. The data/graphics on the pages are edited directly onto the page and will not change until the web designer edits the page and uploads the new page.
Static sites need to be updated either by ASEProgramming on either a "pay per update" basis or on a "monthly unlimited updates" contract.
Alternatively you can purchase software to do the updates yourself and we will train you on how to do it.
Template Based Sites
NEW NEW NEW!!! Introducing our fantastic new Template based websites!
Although our Custom Built Websites are , by comparison, very cheap, still they represent too large a part of some companies marketing budget and so a Template based website is a perfect opportunity and starting point for you to get your company on-line with very little outlay.
*N.B. These sites tend to be static because Content Management Systems are more costly to set up.
Click HERE to see examples of, template bases sites. (Pages include many FAQ's for more information).
Dynamic Sites
A dynamic site consists of pages which the user can manipulate to produce specific data from a database. (eg. when you look for flights on a travel company website)
A dynamic website generally attracts more visitors and consequently more customers and gives your website the edge. This is preferable for sites with frequently changing data and sites requiring search facilities or e-commerce capabilities etc.
One of the main advantags of dynamic sites is the ability to update your site via any standard web browser to update content immediately in real-time via a password protected "Content Management System" part of the website which only you and your chosen administrators have access to.
Dynamic sites are a must if you are planning an E-Commerce site, or if you want any type of user interaction with your site.
It is possible to have a mostly static site with a few dynamic elements - such as a guestbook (which is simply a database of entries displayed on your site!)
Custom Designed Sites
Custom designed sites can look exactly as you would like them to. Your navigation "buttons" can be bolt shaped if you are a fastner manufacturer or hairbrush-shaped if you are a salon. A good example of one of our custom designed unique sites is HERE. You can have picture slide shows, (See our example HERE) and all manner of things on your custom designed site. If you want it on your site - the general answer is "You can have it"! You get the idea! The world is literally your oyster.
Custom Designed sites work best for businesses which have a strong corporate logo which needs to be integrated into the site (example HERE) or when you already have a clear idea of what you would like your site to look like.
