We offer an extensive range of Services as listed below, so you can opt from arranging everything (aside from the actual webdesign), yourself, to doing a few things yourself, right through to letting us take case of every aspect of getting you online, followed by many other services to complement your new website.

Web Design Services:

E-Commerce Sites:
An E-Commerce site is a site which accepts real-time payments for goods and services.
There are several ("set up" and "monthly") third party costs involved in setting an E-commerce site up..(See below)...
A Shopping Cart - displays items from your database and allows users to choose them and then collects payment and shipping information.
A Merchant Account - is an account with a bank which allows you to accept credit cards from your clients.
A payment Gateway - links your shopping cart to your merchant account
A Secure Site Certificate - Encrypts information between your website and the clients computer to protect the information from being stolen as your customer makes his online purchase.
OR.... there is another option which has :
NO set up costs
NO monthly Fees
NO Gateway Fees
FREE Merchant Account PLUS
Anti Fraud System.
This option is by having a PAYPAL account. In return for waiving the above fees , you pay a small percentage of each transaction you make on-line (Currently 3.4% +20p for per transaction if your monthly on-line orders are under £1500, 2.9% + 20p for orders between £1500 and £6000, and so on.)
This option makes the best sense initially as you DONT PAY A (third party) PENNY unless you make money! It's Risk Free! The setup fee from ASEP is ONLY £250.00 . Its a one-off administration fee to "Write" your on-line "Shop" into your site. After that you wait for your orders and PAYPAL simply pays you directly minus their percentage. EASY!
Flash Animations:
The Banner at the top of this page is a "Flash Animation". Rather than just display your company logo and static text you can have your own "mini-movie" to tell people all about your services in an eyecatching manner without them even having to make one click!
By using Flash you can really snaz-up single page or template based sites, create amazing "Intros" - which entice people into your site, and generally inject a little "wow" factor into your site wherever you choose to display it.
Cost depends on length and complexity of your movie.
The ASEP banner for example has 30 seconds duration (typical length) and 21 layers (that's 21 seperate pieces of animation) You could expect to pay around £100 for this length and complexity, but the sky is the limit or you could go much more simple too.
You can also use Flash to display interactive video clips or music clips etc on your site - where users have a control panel to play, rewind etc.
Content Management Systems:
One of the main reasons many customers choose to have a (fully or partially) dynamic database-driven website is so that they can update it online in realtime, via any standard web browser, anywhere.
You simply Sign into the password-protected "Content Management" area of your site and add, edit or delete the records in your database at the touch of a button. EASY!
If you are planning an on-line store with many items - a Content Management system is essential as you will need to add and remove products, show stock (if required), change prices etc. at the touch of a button to keep your site up-to-date.
Cost is charged per RecordSet or "Set of Database Records" which you want to be able to update. Eg if you only wanted the "News" area of your site updatable then you should expect to pay £50.00 for the relevant pages to be added to your site, and a further £30.00 each for subsequent recordsets.

A "Free*" Hit Counter - Shows how many visitors your site has. Includes Advertising from other sites and the providor. Set-up Cost :£10.00
A "Free*" Guestbook - Where your visitors can add their own messages adn they can be viewwed by other visitors : Includes Advertising from other sites and the provider and visually can only blend in partially to your site design. Set-up Cost : £10.00
A Customised Hit Counter - as Free version but no sponsored advertising and customised (ie, you choose the images and colour schemes to blend with your site): £50.00

A Customised Guestbook - as Free version but no sponsored advertising and customised (ie, you choose the fields for the info the visitor can leave: visually blends 100% into your site £50.00*

Feedback or Enquiry Form - (*Included free in All Inclusive packages)
You can simply have an e-mail link as a means of contact on your website, but there are two factors you need to consider before doing this:
1. A direct link can lead to spam junk mail
2. If youre user isn't at his own computer he may not be able to send you an e-mail.
To compat these two factors, many sites use an "Enquiry form" which sends you an e-mail via your site, not an e-mail client such as Outlook. This way anyone accessing your site can get in direct and immediate contact with you and you don't risk losing the enquiry. Set-up Cost :£99.00
*"Free" refers to the monthly costs usually involved in "renting" these services from third parties (because the information stored in them is saved to their server and not your sites server).The offset for them being "Free" is that they include adverts from the providors sponsors. (N.B. The Customised versions (see right) are written by ASEP and so do not involve any ongoing costs either.) * Please note price does not include "content management" which enables you to vet all entries before and/or after insertion into guestbook.
Updates/Maintenance Contracts: (Free for 12 months in All-Inclusive packages)
This applies to Static Sites and Static Pages ONLY
When you need your static pages updating you can either have them updated on a "pay per update" basis or a take out a maintenance contract where all your updates (however many) are included in one blanket price (currently £99.00 per month)
N.B. In reality Maintenance contracts are rarely now in operation since the advent of dynamic sites, because with them came the ability to have Self-Administering Websites by means of a "Content Management" system written into your site.
If, however you have static pages that hardly ever change and you do not feel they are worth the extra expense of having a content management page written for them for the purpose of updates, then "pay per update" updates are still very much in operation.
Cost: £5.00* per (page) update - or £100.00** per site (whichever is cheapest)
* Includes unlimited data changes on that page
**Includes unlimited pages within your site, each with unlimited data changes!
A second alternative for static page updates is to purchase "Macromedia (Now Adobe) Contribute3" which is a great software product which copies your pages directly from the internet, lets you edit them directly and then uploads them back to your site for you again instantly.
However....although this is a great product in essence, and training is minimal (one afternoon and you will be proficient enought to run your own site!) you do gain full control over every aspect of your site (not just data) and therefore there is plenty of scope for you to accidentally alter the general design of your site in a detrimental fashion - which could then be potentially costly to rectify and may render your site unusable or at the very least visually damaging in the meantime before it can be rescued!! It's a great tool if you're proficient in its use, but a Content Management System is definitely both easier and more stress free and the way forward, if you want to gain control over your site. It could work out cheaper too in the long run!
DON'T FORGET..... unlimited updates on Static Sites are incuded FREE of CHARGE for the first 12 months in all our web design packages. (This way - you can assess how many updates you will typically need over a 12 month period and work out which will be the best and most cost effective method of updates for you in future)
Web Marketing Services:
Getting your site noticed is the next step. There are various avenues you can explore in order to achieve increased visitors (knows as "Traffic") to your site.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO):
Unfortunately.... the very process by which a web site achieves high search rankings (Which includes assessing your competition's sites and their keywords etc.) is also the exact reason why you can sometimes fall down the ranking just as quickly as you rose up them. (Since your site is subject to the scrutiny of your competitors just as their site is to you)
In these cases (which involve trying to achieve high rankings on very popular keywords eg "cheap furniture" trying to ensure continual high rankings can be both a costly and possibly futile affair. (Largely depending on the budget your competition has awarded this process).
Unless you are a huge company - you are unlikely to have the budget to be able to achieve this and keep it, and its probably not going to be cost effective, in terms of the number of customers it results in, to even try.

Ah.... The great SEO question! So many different variations on this - who should you believe? Well I can only tell you ASEP's beliefs on the matter...........
What will get your site ranking high in search engines is mostly down to the way your site is designed, together with intensive research into similar websites' rankings and carefully constructed meta descriptions, titles and content etc. You can rest assured that we will design your site with maximum optimisation in mind from the outset, as standard, based on the criteria you give us.
Search Engine Optimisation is a Serious Business for the discerning Web Site owner, which requires serious thought and planning on both our parts. Meta tags are the first thing search engines see, so if you’re going to rank high then it's vital these are doing the best possible job for you. We will guide you through every step of this process to ensure as productive an outcome as possible for your site.
What we can achieve though is high rankings in realistic and the most productive keywords for your business - which we will discuss with you at length to determine.
Site Submission:
Once your site is Optimised , it needs to submited to the Search Engines in order to be Indexed by them. Once you are indexed - you generally remain there even after your site is no longer available (in cached form, for a limited time)! Therefore repeated submissions to seach engines are not always necessary, to stay indexed, although they may help you stay ontop of the rankings if you are high - since your competitors might and will undoubtedly try and creep up past you! (This is not true of all search engines - some do require repeated indexing - more on this at our consultation....!)
Another grey area is how many engines you need to submit to! Many companies offer submit to to "400+" or even sometimes"1000's" of Search Engines... for a "small fee"!!......Its perfectly true - they can indeed do it for you, but Search Engines are a bit like Washing Powders!! Whatever they're called - "Ariel", "Persil", "Bold" or "Daz" - ultimately they're all owned by Unilever!
Likewise nearly all search engines use other "top" searchengines to perform their seach queires.
Therefore by submitting your site to only the top 10 engines, it will filter down through to hundreds of Search Engines anyway. (most of which are never used of course! If you saw the list of these 200 search engines - you'd only recognise a handful anyway!! and since many of them reach a worldwide market - you're probably not going to benefit from them anyway.)
So beware having to pay for more search engines than you need. Just the Top 10 will do just as well in the end - and that's free to do for anyone!
Personally most people are happy (me included) if their site is listed in Google and MSN, since in the UK that's what the vast majority of people use. (Followed perhaps by Yahoo AOL, & Alta Vista)
So - Cost of Site Submission: FREE to all!
* N.B. It can take up to 2 months for your site to be indexed by all the search engines so please do not expect immidiate results.
Web Traffic*
It is possible to buy web traffic to guarantee visitors view your website.
This usually works by the company you use buying expired domain names which still have significant residual traffic, and then directing that traffic to your site instead. It can be very specificly targetted and is the best way to achieve Web Trafic if you choose to go down this route. (A poor way is to rely on pop-ups when users are viewing another site, since many browsers now block pop-ups by default).
Pay Per Click (PCC) Advertising Campaigns*
Pay per click search engines offer instant traffic, completely side stepping the lengthy process of optimizing sites for the search engines.
Your Ads (which are created using your main business keywords and choosing exact phrases that people use when searching your products and services,) will be shown on the major search engines and directories, including Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, AOL
The company should then run your pay per click bids and analyze your ROI (Return on investment) as part of the service.
You can then see exactly how far your money is going and what is successful or not.
*Please note that ASEP does not supply Web Traffic or PPC - but can arrange them with 3rd party companies for you if you would like. P.O.A.
Advertise your site on another ASEP site....
It is possible that we may be able to do a "swap" of banner advertising with your site and another site designed by ASEP. Take a look at our portfolio and if you think you could benefit from advertising with any of the sites and think they might benefit from advertising with yours - let us know and we can make the suggestion and set it up if it is agreed upon by both parties.

Domain Name Registration:
eg. www.aseprogramming.com. Your Domain name (or "web site address") is registered with an external body either directly by you or via us.
Cost: .co.uk domain names are Free for 1st 12 months with All Web Design Packages.
Please ask for info. on other domains.
When you register your Domain name , we will need are the details you will be given upon purchase ,either in the welcome Letter or E-mail you receive. This includes:
Username
Password
*You are free to switch to another provider after the 12 month free period.
Hosting:
The hosting company stores your web pages on their server so that they can be viewed online at your chosen domain name.
We will point you in the direction of a reputable hosting company depending on the hosting facilities your site requires.
Then all you need to do is forward us FTP details you will be given upon purchase ,either in the welcome Letter or E-mail you receive. This includes:
FTP/ IP Address
Username
Password
Photograpic/Video Services:
If you require digital photographs or digital video taking for your site - we will be happy to oblige.
Cost: FREE within a 30 mile raduis.
Other areas -session FREE and travel expenses chargeable at £.40p per mile.
Graphic Design (Web):
We will custom-design all graphics needed for your website and/or will optimise any graphics you send us for use on the web.
Cost: Included in the price of all our Web -design packages.

Have you noticed? Hardly any banner adverts nowadays are static.
There is just no competition ; If you want your ad to stand out (which of course you necesarily do!!) you need to make it eye-catching and Flash offers the easiest and quickest method of upload for this type of animation.
